Mystery Hostess Evening

Come and have a fun evening on the Tuesday 10th August. Make a card watch some demonstrations and enjoy some refreshments. The focus will be on the 'Last Chance to Purchase' list which are the Stampin' Up! products that are no longer going to be available in the new catalogue coming out on September 1st.

For every order of $35 or more and for every booking made that evening you will receive a ticket for the prize draw. The prize will be for a share of the hostess benefits that night.

Masculine Card

I often struggle with masculine cards, howeverI have recently discovered that if I keep the card simple, clean cut and add a little metal it can be quite easy.

This card uses the Pick-A-Petal stamp set and the Sincere Salutation. I have just added the Vintage Brads and a couple of Oval punches and I'm away.

Now all I have to do is to think of a man who will appreciate it!!......Umm! Husband...no! Brother...maybe! Dad....of course!

I'm still having fun with Pun Fun and the button bouquet.

Tip: If you don't have the colour ribbon that you are after, cut a strip of card in the colour that you want, crumple it up an then flatten in out. This gives you colour and texture.

Stamp Fest is here again!

Come and join us for a fun day of papercrafting and stamping. You will have the opportunity to try out the Sissix Bigshot die-cutting and dry embossing machine. Learn how to use a brayer to create a range of different backgrounds. We will be making a concertina box, a range of cards, a 6x6" mini scrapbook and cover. Using the newest range of Stampin' Up! products. Cost will be $30 for a half day and $50 for a full day. Flight of the Butterfly

This is one of the cards that workshop guests will be making when they go to my workshops this month. Inspired by the I {Heart} Hearts card on page 6 of the current mini catalogue.

Butterfly Box

If you click on older posts down the bottom you will see the tutorial on how to make this simple but cute box.

I used my Crop-a-dile with the grid from the Mat Pack to dry emboss the dots.

Surfs up dude!

I can't take credit for this card. My (nearly) 5 year old son made it with my mum when she was visiting. She saw several like this on Splitcoaststampers.

A simple bt affective card using the Pick-a-petal stamp set, Boho Flower punch for the sun and the ripping technique for the sand and sea.

Awesome work.

Ps. My mum had never stamped before she came to visit at Christmas!

Pun Fun Whale

I think that the Stampin' Up!s Pun Fun whale is very cute.
On this card I have used Aqua Painters to colour the whale in. For best results with the Aqua Painters do a light wash of colour first with a damp (not wet) brush, then go around two adjacent edges with a darker shade of colour.

Flutterby

A very simple but elegant card using the Flight of the Butterfly and three punches, the Butterfly punch, the Eyelet Border punch and the Word Window punch. I used the Word Window punch for the words and then trimmed off the ends.

Run Out of Supplies

My mum has been over for 2 1/2 months. After a week of being back home she has already run out of one or two card colours. Which reminded me to remind you to contact me anytime that you need something, I am more than happy to place an order for you no matter how small.

Flight of the Butterfly

I saw this lay out using a different stamp set somewhere months ago. If it was yours than thank you it is fabulous.
I have used the Flight of the Butterfly (the little flower is from that set too), butterfly punch, Riding hood red, whisper white, pink pirouette and sage shadow. I have also used daubers which are one of my favourite effects.
Try it today.

Don't you just love the artwork in the catalogue? The little one in the middle uses the Pocket Silhouette stamp set, my version uses Le Jardin Botanique stamp set. I have also used the fabulous Wonderful Favourites and the Sanded background stamp.

Colours used are Kraft, Choc chip and So Saffron.
Urban Garden and Bella Rose DSP is also used along with the Word Window Punch.

Circle Scissor Fan

You may recognise this card. I have based it on the gorgeous waterlily card on page 96 in the SU! Ideas Book and Catalogue.

I created the circles using the Circle Scissors. Now here's a tip for you: when you are wanting to cut out a part circle place about three or four small strips of temporary adhesive such as Dotto on the back of the part of the card you are cutting. If you still have the Dotto on the circle when it is cut, you had it in the right place! Does that make sense? If you have the Dotto further out the card moves too much.
