Pun Fun Whale

I think that the Stampin' Up!s Pun Fun whale is very cute.
On this card I have used Aqua Painters to colour the whale in. For best results with the Aqua Painters do a light wash of colour first with a damp (not wet) brush, then go around two adjacent edges with a darker shade of colour.

Have fun.

Flutterby

A very simple but elegant card using the Flight of the Butterfly and three punches, the Butterfly punch, the Eyelet Border punch and the Word Window punch. I used the Word Window punch for the words and then trimmed off the ends.
Have a great weekend.

Run Out of Supplies

My mum has been over for 2 1/2 months. After a week of being back home she has already run out of one or two card colours. Which reminded me to remind you to contact me anytime that you need something, I am more than happy to place an order for you no matter how small.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Flight of the Butterfly

I saw this lay out using a different stamp set somewhere months ago. If it was yours than thank you it is fabulous.
I have used the Flight of the Butterfly (the little flower is from that set too), butterfly punch, Riding hood red, whisper white, pink pirouette and sage shadow. I have also used daubers which are one of my favourite effects.
Try it today.

Have a great weekend.

Don't you just love the artwork in the catalogue? The little one in the middle uses the Pocket Silhouette stamp set, my version uses Le Jardin Botanique stamp set. I have also used the fabulous Wonderful Favourites and the Sanded background stamp.

Colours used are Kraft, Choc chip and So Saffron.
Urban Garden and Bella Rose DSP is also used along with the Word Window Punch.

Circle Scissor Fan

You may recognise this card. I have based it on the gorgeous waterlily card on page 96 in the SU! Ideas Book and Catalogue.

I created the circles using the Circle Scissors. Now here's a tip for you: when you are wanting to cut out a part circle place about three or four small strips of temporary adhesive such as Dotto on the back of the part of the card you are cutting. If you still have the Dotto on the circle when it is cut, you had it in the right place! Does that make sense? If you have the Dotto further out the card moves too much.

We Have Blast Off

I must admit that Pun Fun was a stamp set that I liked, but I was put off by the words. That meant that until the last couple of months I haven't played with it. What a waste! Now that I have my sticky (or inky) little fingers on it I have been having so much fun.

When you mount your Pun Fun stamp set you could carefully cut inbetween the words and the picture with a craft blade and then mount the words onto the end of the wooden block. (Please be very careful how you cut, as you won't get a replacement if you cut the image.)
I have copied this card here from the catalogue. I may have to add some white words in place of the arrows. I'll have a think on that!
I love the way that the buttons match the colours so nicely.

Rockets Away

I have always liked the layout of this card, but I don't have the stamp set.

However, I do have the Pun Fun stamp set (on loan from the lovely Jess McDonald) which I coloured using my aqua painters. I have used the small star punch with dimensionals behind to give them lift and I used the mat pack and joined the dots (slowly) with a stampin write marker to get the stitched effect.

It is so easy to use one of the card layouts in the Ideas Book and Catalogue and turn it into a unique card of your own. Try it today. Or phone me for your own copy of the catalogue on 09 238 2100.

Altered book bag

For Eva's last book bag, I had her name scrawled over the front, as neat as I could (sort of!). This year I decided to try something a little different. By using a piece of Hodgepodge, the Short Order Alphabet stamp set and some crystal effects Eva now has a smart book bag.

1 Select a hardware frame from the Hodgepodge kit.
2 Embellish a small piece of card stock to display in the frame.
3 Fill in the frame with Crystal Effects.

Note: The Crystal Effects takes time to dry, don't be tempted to touch it until it is set hard. You will get a fingerprint otherwise (no matter how light you touch it!!)
Feel free to contact me at any time if you need tips and advice on any of your Stampin' Up! products. It is often easy to forget how to use a tool that you have only seen demonstrated once. Better still come and join my Stamp Club starting 25th March. Contact me for m ore details on 09 238 2100.

Baja Breeze Butterflies

This is a rehash of one of the cards I made when I first began to demonstrate. I like the colour combination, which is in keeping with this months theme of the In-colours and Neutrals.

It is interesting how bland this card looked until I had added the brads.

I have used the wonderfully versatile Priceless stamp set for this card.
