Wedding Triangle Box

This Triangle box is very gorgeous and very easy to make.

1. Cut a sheet of A4 cardstock in half lengthways. It should be 28.8cm by 10.5cm (I used Real Red).
2. Using a scoring blade or your bone folder, score lines as above. (Ignore the holes, I forgot to take photos until I had already punched them).
3. Decorate as you please (this is the SO Swirly Wheel and the Eyelet Border Punch)

4. Fold along score lines.

5. Hold one one of the sides together and punch (I used my crop-a-dile, but you could use a hole punch). Do this on the other side and then thread the ribbon through).

Wedding Favour in Red and Black

At the beginning of the week I was asked to make a couple of wedding favours using Real Red, Basic Black and the So Swirly Stampin' Around Wheel.

Here is one sample that I made. It is a little dark against the background, but hopefully you get the idea.

Buttons and Bags

I am keeping to a couple of themes with this box. Firstly, using a sample from the catalogue that I have altered to suit a stamp set and colour family that I already have. Secondly, to use the Pun Fun stamp set and the In-Colours and Neutrals range of card, buttons and ribbons.

I will be starting a new Stamp Club in March. Please contact me if you would like to find out more details. The box above is just one example of the projects that we will be making.

Haiti Red Cross Relief Appeal

Image from the summer mini catalogue.

Stampin' Up! is an amazing company which I am proud to be a part of. They have always given extremely generously to relief appeals, including Victoria's Bushfire Appeal last year. With the assistance and generousity of you, our customers, Stampin' Up! was able to donate a large sum of money.

Now there is a need for help again for Haiti. Stampin' Up! has already donated 5000 hygiene kits, and they are wanting to give more, so from now until 28 February, when you order the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalogue (page 6), Stampin' Up! will donate $2 to the American Red Cross’ Haiti Relief and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.

Please contact me with your order on 09 238 2100 or donnacalley@xtra.co.nz.

Time for a gift

I love these large cello bags. They fit a half sheet of A4 perfectly.

Simply stamp the backing card, slip it in the cello bag and use the word window punch to make the hole at the top. Then fill with a selection of cards and hand it to someone you would like to thank or wish happy birthday.

This is an adaptation of the card I last blogged about using the same materials.

Are You Ready For Valentine's Day?

How do you make a Valentine's Day Card for your husband, partner or boyfriend? Well, I would recommend muted or neutral colours. And you can try a different coloured heart for a change aswell.
I think this Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss on Whisper White and Basic Grey combination works really well together. Also, you only need two mixed card stock packs for this: the neutrals and the in-colours.

Thestamp set that I used was the lovely Priceless and I just finished it off with a couple of brads.

A great stamp set to use for the wording is 'Wonderful Favourites' which is currently on special until 24th January. At $35.21 for a 23 piece stamp set it is a steal
Contact me today for you Valentine's Day card supplies.

Happy stamping

Another stamp set sold out...

The Wild West Alphabet stamp set is no longer available in the SU! Inventory Sale, along with Jumbo Outline Alphabet set and the Just Riding stamp sets.

If you have your eye on any of the sets or accessories in the sale contact me today so that you won't be disappointed.

The technique I have used to stamp the horses is called Stamping Off or Repetition.
  1. Ink the image
  2. Stamp the image
  3. Re-stamp the image one or more times without re-inking the stamp.

This technique is a great way to get several shades of colour from a single ink pad.

Stamp set: Wanted
Card Stock: Kraft, Vanilla, Old Olive and Tangerine Tango.
Inks: White Craft Ink, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Small Star Punch, Dimensionals, Candy Lane Designer Series Paper.

Use Your Catalogue, No.2. From Stars To Jandals

The above card is copied from the Ideas Book and Catalogue, pg 141 and is a great layout and colour combination for boys.

With my version of the card from pg 141, I have used the Occasionally stamp set, currently reduced to $41.48, to produce a card that could also be used for a boy. I really like the use of the Whisper White Craft ink on a darker colour to create the stars. The hemp twine adds to the beach theme.
Try this layout at home today and see what you can produce. Remember the stamps and colours can be totally different, but keep the layout the same. You will be suprised at how good your result will be. I would love to see your version, so e-mail a photo through when you have finished.
Th order the Occasionally stamp set or any other product from Stampin' Up! contact me on 09 238 2100 or e-mail donnacalley@xtra.co.nz.
Materials used:
Stamp set: Occasionally ($41.48 until 24th January 2010)
Ink: Bashful Blue, Whisper White Craft and Versamark

Where Do You Get Your Inspiration?

It can be difficult to think of new card lay outs and inspiration. Plus, it can take hours of blog surfing to find a card that you want to make. So where can you go for ideas? Why not go straight to the Stampin' Up! Ideas Book and Catalogue.

Look at the layout of the cards in the catalogue. Ignore the stamps they have used, you can use what you have to do something similar. Take the card below for example, I don't own the Sip By Sip stamp set, but Ihave always loved the bag they have photographed in the catalogue to show you what you can do with it. So Ihad a play with the Occassionally stamp set and made my own version of it. I think that it turned out great and it was so quick to do.

Try it yourself. Look through the catalogue for a card that you like and use it to base your card on.

Return to my blog over the next few weeks to see other cards I have created this way.

Materials used:
Stamp set: Occasionally ($41.48 until 24th January 2010)
Ink: Choc chip, whisper white and Kiwi Kiss
Card Stock: Choc chip, whisper white, kiwi kiss and sahara sand
Accessories: Curly label punch bundle, rose red double-stitched grograin ribbon (25% off), 1" circle punch

Valentine's Day Card

Images copywrite Stampin' Up!
I am sticking to my Occasionally theme with this Valentine's Day card. The Occasionally stamp set (reduced to $41.48) has several sayings or phrases in it 'Thank You', 'My Mum', 'Dear Dad' and 'xoxoxo' as well as all the 24 images, so it is easy to make a variety of cards for many themes, eg Mothers' Day and Fathers' Day, thank you cards.
To create the lines on this card I have placed my card stock upside down in the paper trimmer and scored using the bone folder. This is a great way to add interest to your card whilst still keeping the card simple.
I have added the Flower Ribbon Slide from the Silver Hodgepodge currently 25% off at $51.71. They are simply gorgeous.
To get the brad look on the hearts I have stamped and then punched out the image with the 3/4" circle punch, attached them with a dimensional to add height and finally put Crystal Effects on top. It is wise to put the Crytal Effects on last as it can take a couple of hours to dry. Once it is dry you can add more and more layers depending on the effect that you desire.
Materials used:
Stamp set: Occasionally ($41.48 until 24th January 2010)
Ink: So Saffron, Handsome Hunter and Bravo Burgundy
Card Stock: Whisper White and Brocade Blue
Accessories: Silver Hodgepodge ($51.71 until 24th January 2010), dimensionals, Brocade Blue ribbon, bone folder, paper trimmer and the eyelet border punch.

Have fun stampin' today.

Better Late Than Never

I know these are a little early!! But I thought that you would like to see other things that can be done with the Occasionally stamp set is currently half price at $41.48. You could use many of the images in the same layout. Try altering the colours a little to whatever suits you and the occasion.

The simplisity of these cards is really appealing, they are ones that you can mass produce. I managed to make 25 of them the day before the last day of school when I realised that my kids needed to hand cards out. Even my 4 year old Benjamin made a good job of his ones.

In the card above I have used:

Stamp Set: Occasionally ($41.48)
Inks: Real Red, Old Olive
Card Stock: Old olive
Accessories: Real Red Ribbon, Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker, small and large square punch
The card above was made by the talented Paula Frearson. She has also used the Family Favourites stamp set that is 25% off at $29.96.

Stamp Set: Occasionally ($41.48) and Family Favourites ($29.96)
Inks: Real Red, Old Olive
Card Stock: Old olive and Real Red
Accessories: Real Red Ribbon, Old Olive and Real Red Stampin' Write Marker, 3/4" ans 1" circle punch, Crop-A-Dile and Pewter Jumbo Eyelets
